Collaborating with David B. Anderson
My husband, David B. Anderson and I have been collaborating more on jewelry designs. We’ve been married a happy 7 years, but until we built our custom studio space in Arroyo Seco New Mexico it was hard for us to work together. We both had studio spaces that were carved out of whatever spare space we could find in our house. When we finally realized our dream of an integrated, real working studio, the ease of collaborating became obvious. Sharing creative space isn’t for everyone, and many craftspeople require isolation to do their thing. We’re loving the energy of sharing ideas, manufacturing, marketing and meeting with clients. We each have our strengths and weaknesses and try to maximize the strengths and ignore the weaknesses (not really). Here’s a snap from the last photo shoot I did that incorporates ring designs from both of us into one image. It will be featured on our collaborative business card and some advertising campaigns.
